Inspire Others |  Being an Inspiration and not a weight

by Craig Rogers, co-founder of Abundant Life Leadership Academy

We are either an inspiration to others, or a weight.  We either inspire others, or we hold them back, hold them down, and act as a weight upon their personal, emotional, and spiritual life. It is so much easier, more fulfilling, and more enjoyable (more fun) to be an inspiration, and not a drag (being a weight is like being a big fat rock given to a person in the middle of a lake who is tired from treading water as they wait for a rescue boat).  Those that inspire have fulflling existences, purposeful lives, and a reason to smile.  We can't say that we have lived, and we can't say our lives count or that we have value if we don't inspire.

There are many people out there, mostly selfish and self-absorbed focused on themselves and their narrow views, who are weights upon the society, drags on their communities, and a hinderance upon their friends and families. What do I mean by a "weight"?  They weigh down others, they add a drag or hinderance... do to their self-centered, ignorant, and childish mannerisms they do not add a single positive thing to anyone including themselves.  They are judgmental, critics, who have nothing to show in their lives that they have contributed to the quality of life.  These people are demanding, self-focused, and never satisfied.  They act as if they are owed everything and no one ever lives up to their demands or unreal expectations.

These people are easily identified by their fould speech, rude personal attacks upon others, and the nasty accusations and horrible language.  They cuss and use the "f-word" as if it were candy, and they have no accomplished anything in their lives yet they hold themselves as judge, jury, and executioner.  They act as if they have wisdom and normal abilities, but the truth is that they could not even take care of themselves let alone hold down a job, pay rent, or function normally in society.  These people live to use others, and they live to party, and to live a life of being numb.
